OneLife-ELA

OneLife, 103 employees, 388 729 steps … 1 objective.  To raise money for ELA, European Leucodystrophies Association, www.ela-asso.lu

On Tuesday 27th June, OneLife staff got active for charity, counting their steps inside and outside of the office to raise money for ELA, the charity that helps children who have this brain degenerating disease to lead better lives.

Throughout the day employees were encouraged by their managers to walk and clock up as many steps as possible, instead of just picking up the phone or sending emails as part of the business day.  Objective – 1 step = 1 centime (Euro).

OneLife’s initiative is part of the national campaign held on 16th June to raise money for ELA.  Then, companies in Luxembourg counted their steps during an entire day to help the charity.

With a special 1km walk organised in the afternoon, OneLife staff pulled on their trainers and got out of the office to help increase the number of steps.

The initiative managed to raise €3887,29 for ELA.

Laurence Parison, Head of OneLife’s Diversity Committee, said : ‘Our staff were really motivated to take part and walk !  I had so many people come to see me in my office instead of just ‘phoning or emailing me.  It’s really a great way to make a difference and help this great cause.’
